Risks
Are there any risks involved in taking part in a study?
There may be risks involved in taking part in a study. All risks or possible side-effects will be explained to you before you decide to take part. To ensure that investigators act ethically and do not expose people to unreasonable risks, studies must go before the Ethics Committee for approval. This committee is made up of medical, non-medical and laypersons and it is their responsibility to ensure that the patient’s rights and welfare are maintained at all times.
