Loss and Bereavement
There are several resources available in Scotland to link to for further information or access to support related to loss and bereavement. Some of these are aimed for all people and others are specifically aimed for those working in health and social care.
A Bereavement Charter for Children and Adults in Scotland - launched on 15th April 2020.
Developed by a coalition of individuals and organisations the Charter contains 15 statements which describe what the best bereavement care and support should look like. It has been developed to support individuals and communities who struggle with the death of someone they know or someone in their community. The Charter is designed to help us understand not only the importance of bereavement support, but what that support needs to look like. Please click on the link below for further information:

National Childhood Bereavement Project
Includem has been appointed National Childhood Bereavement Coordinator by Scottish Government to review and advise on steps to improve support in Scotland. This work commenced March 2020. The Project has funding from the Scottish Government until the end of March 2021, with the option of extension until the end of March 2022.
The Project is tasked with carrying out an audit of the existing range of bereavement services available for under 25s across Scotland. To do this, they are working in partnership with organisations and service providers and engaging with bereaved children, young people, their families and carers to progress broad aspirations for improvement into specific actions, reporting back to the Scottish Government what is needed to realise change.
