Vision

Our vision is to be a leading international centre for the development and implementation of innovative applied health research and innovation into healthcare.

We propose to achieve this through partnership, both locally and nationally, as part of Health Science Scotland and NHS Research Scotland. The strategy of the Tayside Medical Science Centre is to:

1. Build upon our strategic priority of translational research to accelerate the implementation of research and innovation into practice
2. Build upon our track record of quality improvement as applied to clinical trial governance, professional training  and patient safety
3. Build upon our rich heritage in health informatics and information science to allow us to measure what we do in real time.
4. Assess and address the unmet health needs of the people of Tayside and Scotland for present and future generations.
5. Impact healthcare improvement through engaging in high quality research locally, nationally and globally

Our vision will be achieved by the close alignment of service delivery with research and education.
