AHSP Workstreams
In the initial phase of the Partnership’s development AHSP established three key workstreams to drive innovation and healthcare improvement:
Education & Lifelong Learning - to ensure integration of undergraduate and postgraduate education and training across the University, NHS and Deanery as well as to promote inter-professional training, and lifelong learning among all healthcare sectors.
Quality Improvement & Safety - to ensure that healthcare provision is carried out to the highest possible standards, using proven methodology of healthcare quality improvement to create an environment where all staff work to standards of care that ensure efficient use of resources, and maximum patient benefit and safety.
Research – to ensure an integrated approach to translational research that supports all necessary infrastructure for research and develops high quality research programmes that allow rapid translation of research findings to deliver healthcare benefit, as well as brings pressing clinical priorities to research prominence.
AHSP workstreams will be supported by activities in two cross-cutting themes:
Informatics - to develop a secure safe haven to integrate routinely collected health and research data that can be used to manage routine healthcare more efficiently, drive service improvement and support translational research activity with close collaboration among the NHS, University and external partners.
International Outreach - to build international activity between the University and NHS Tayside that creates additional educational and research capacity, enhances reputation and generates sustainable revenue.
