Appointment of Biomedical Cluster Director (AHSP)

Professor Graeme Houston has been appointed as Biomedical Cluster Director (AHSP).    

 

Graeme is currently Chair of Clinical Imaging & Intervention and Director of the Clinical Research Imaging Facility, Molecular & Clinical Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Dundee.

 

This new role arose from the revised AHSP strategy which will focus on 4 strategic clusters including Biomedical, Design & Innovation, Quality Improvement and Informatics, with each cluster having dedicated leadership from a Director.

 

The Biomedical Cluster Director will provide leadership to further grow to its full potential the skills and medical technologies components of the Biomedical cluster which has emerged from the Tay Cities Deal bid, as well as ensuring close alignment and synergy with the development of the biopharma/biotech sector and other areas. The aim is for Tayside to be recognised as the centre for biomedical excellence in education/skills, medical technologies innovation and research development.

 

Graeme brings a wealth of experience and great enthusiasm to the role, which he commenced on 1 July 2018.
