About TCTU

Tayside Clinical Trials Unit (TCTU) was established in 2008 as a collaboration of the University of Dundee and NHS Tayside. The TCTU's role is to provide support and services to investigators, delivering high quality trial design from idea conception through protocol development, data management, analysis and onto publication. In addition, the TCTU aims to improve the success and quality of clinical trials.

TCTU supports clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs) and complex intervention studies across a spectrum of disease indication and patient populations. As well as supporting studies sponsored locally, TCTU supports studies with external sponsors as well as supporting studies recruiting across the UK and EU.

TCTU was given provisional registration by the UKCRC in 2009 and full registration in 2012 and again in 2017. TCTU has supported its host organisations through 3 regulatory sponsor inspections (2009, 2011 and 2014) and was successfully inspected in its own right as a CTU in 2017.
