The clinical research infrastructure to conduct and deliver a range of high quality studies across a spectrum of diseases in Scotland is provided by 7 NRS Clinical Research Networks. To find out more information about these networks please click on the left hand navigation to access their sites.
In addition to the specific Clinical Research Networks, NRS also supports the work of the 23 Specialty Groups, which cover all clinical research out-with the remit of the Networks.
Locally NHS Tayside hosts the Scottish Primary Care Research Network, the Scottish Cancer Research Network- East, the Scottish Diabetes Research Network and the Scottish Dementia Clinical Research Network. We also provide administrative and performance management support to the Scottish Speciality Group Leads for Cardiovascular, Genetics, Oral & Dental, Metabolic & Endocrine, Ophthalmology and Surgery, and host the UK wide Age and Ageing Lead.
The arrangements for supporting clinical research in Scotland are currently under review with an aim of implementing revised structures from April 2014.
